Jean Millican

Jean Madeleine Millican died suddenly on January 16, 2017, in Seattle, Washington, from a heart attack. Jean is survived by her husband Frank and two daughters, Maddie and Laura Denman. She is also survived by sisters, Carol and Adrienne.

Jean was a board certified neurologist who was affiliated with the Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System and served as a consultant for the Southeast Alaska Health Consortium. She did her residency at the University of Washington and graduated from Georgetown Medical School. Jean did her undergraduate studies at Swarthmore College where she got her B.A. in Chemistry with an unofficial second major in English Literature.

Jean went to Alta Vista Elementary School and North Bethesda Junior High before attending Walter Johnson.  She attended both the 40th and 45th Reunions. Jean brought her husband with her from Seattle for the 45th Reunion and, among other festivities, attended a brunch with other Alta Vista alums.

A Celebration of Jean's Life will be held in Seattle on Sunday, February 26, 2017. If you are interested in attending, please contact this site and we will provide you with contact information for the family.

Jean was one of a very small circle of close girl friends I had during my Walter Johnson senior year. Even though we had not stayed in touch but did re-unite at the 45th reunion, I will miss her and am very sad to hear about her sudden death. She was a dear, sweet person. I know her familly misses her very much. We'll just have to connect from a greater distance now- Jean, I will carry you in my thoughts.
