How can you choose? They were sooo many good songs during that time (unlike now).

Mrs. Wray. She was a science teacher who had the misfortune of trying to teach a truly unruly class of clods and I was impressed with how she kept her composure through it all and as a result I actually learned a lot about science and how to keep your cool under pressure (day after day after day of trying times).

Fairly typical. Went to small college in N.C. Graduated and followed girl friend to Ithaca, N.Y. where she went to Cornell. She left to further her academics. I stayed. Hung out and had a mildly wild life for a while till I met my wife and finally settled down (at age 41 !)and had two kids. Now I try to keep up with the never ending schedule of piano lessons, basketball, scouts, guitar and ballet lessons and pretty much love every minute of it (but sleep VERY soundly at night). Oh, and I majored in accounting in college, did a stint as an accountant, hated it, soon became a residential contractor and have been one since.

My most significant recollection is of an EVERY Fri. night poker game in the basement of Bill Poppe's house with an ongoing cast of characters. If you lost all your money you could reconcile yourelf with a game of pool with all the rest of the losers while everyone else continued to play poker. All the while everyone drank as much as they could (probably younger than legaly allowed, but who's keeping count). The idea being that at least we weren't driving around drinking and that we all had short rides home (how much trouble can you get in to?). Bill's Mom was extremely generous to allow such late and loud activities every Fri. night and her refrigerator was always well stocked with goodies (chips and dip too). I think all the rest of the parents were glad for a stable & steady outlet for all those raging male hormones (too hung over and tired to get in too much trouble on Sat night).
