My Story:
It has been sooo enjoyable to read the bios, I will give it a go…After WJ… it was off to University of Pennsylvania, more great times and more great friends coupled with a Dental Hygiene degree and back to Bethesda. A two month back pack tour of Europe and I was hooked on travel, came back, thought about a career with the airlines but married a pilot instead…..
On New Years Eve, 1977, married Ralph and the adventure began… Moved to San Francisco just in time to witness the Jim Jones fiasco and the pursuing political bedlam that only San Francisco could offer. (Now it is “History” and they are making movies about the era, are we that old? I don’t feel it!!) At that time I dabbled in Property Management (and continue to do so), my first taste of the Real Estate market that would later capture my interests. The flexible hours fit right in with our five children and the chaos we love living. We retreated back to the Midwest for family ties and settled in Birmingham, Michigan…more great times and more great friends.
My kids cringe when I say “it will be an adventure!” 1993, we packed the seven of us & the black lab in a motor-home and headed west to Igo, California to live on our 320 acre ranch. From city girl to country girl, what a transition, I was even the “Swine Lady” for the 4-H club. Our life was full of horses, cows, sheep, coyotes, rattle snakes, huge ominous spiders, peacocks and whatever else the kids dragged in. A two year stint on the ranch and it was back to Michigan to the resort community of Gaylord, “The Alpine Village”.
The kids are grown and wonderful. 30+ years of marriage and life is amazing.
We are surrounded by world class golf and hundreds of fresh water lakes, in the Snowbelt in the winter with gorgeous refreshing summers. Come visit us at our Alpine Baby Grande B&B , Ralph, Lois and maybe a tall cold drink or two will be awaiting your arrival. Be sure to bring your golf clubs, swim suits and skis, kayaking, fishing and general good fun is in the horizon.
And so it went, jumped into Real Estate Sales with a vengeance, had fun with it and now have plenty of free time. If you too would like a piece of heaven in northern Michigan, just call..989-614-1030….interest rates are low, good time to buy!!!
