Bill Harvey

Bill Harvey

Bill Harvey, of San Diego, California, passed away suddenly due to complications following cervical spine surgery on November 25, 2018. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Lynne (Coyner - class of '70); 2 sons - Wm. Jr (Brad) and Robert (and wife Leanne); and 3 grandchildren - Britney, Ashlynn, and Liam.

Bill worked for GEICO beginning in 1972 in the Washington-Annapolis area and later on the West Coast. He retired as a Senior Manager with the company in 2002. According to his brother Bob, once he permanently located out West, Bill fully embraced the California lifestyle. His passions were family, fishing/lobstering, home projects, and fast cars. Bill also enjoyed grilling on the patio where he would spend hours slow cooking his latest delicacy. He was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

So sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. He was a great guy and a close friend during junior high and high school. I have so many great memories of Bill especially during our days hanging out together with Robbie Morgan and Ted Jobe. Great time at Beach Week in Florida our senior year. Save us a seat for when we get there Bill.

With deepest sympathy,

Jim Marquardt (Monkey)

I'm so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. Although I didn't know him well I remember all of us going to the smoking ring at NB. RIP, Bill.

It was so sad to hear about Bill Harvey's passing, we went to the same school from elementary, junior high, and WJ. I'm sure he would never had remembered me, but he was always a good guy, so that's why I remembered him. Rest in Peace.

Bill, as a friend, neighbor, and NB and WJ classmate from 1963-to-1969, reading about your passing brought back a whole BUNCH of memories . . . the local group of junior high student neighbors walking to school down Bulls Run Pkwy turning into an ARMY( or MOB?) as we marched down the street (NEVER sidewak!!) picking up more and more comrades on the way; analysing the lyrics to "Louie, Louie" and Beach Boys "car songs", and being rather jealous that you and Rob Morgan were wearing "Beatle-boots" which my parents wouldn't allow me! . . . funny the way some memories jump to the forefront, eh? R.I.P., brother!

Somehow I missed the notification of Bill’s passing until it was brought to my attention.  My recollection of Bill  was him, Robby Morgan & James Marquart pal-ing around together.  I always thought of them as “disarmingly charming bad boys”, in the best kind of way—nice guys with mischievous streaks!  Reading about his life gelled with how I perceived him to be back in our high school days—just an all around nice guy.  May his antics & his goodness be remembered by his family & all who knew him. RIP, Bill.
